WRAB ---- Wheatland County Residents Against BFI

Wheatland County, Alberta residents are once again fighting BFI.
The new BFI efforts, called Buffaloe Plains, is making promises that may not be
in the interests of the people in Carseland, Alberta.   WRAB, the group opposed to the
establishment of a landfill in the county, is going to push again for organized opposition to BFI.

WRAB
Wheatland County Residents Against BFI
-------------------------------------------

Agriculture, tourism, and recreation are normally the main focus of the council for the future of Wheatland County, Alberta.
Wheatland County residents are united in their opposition to rezoning of prime farmland near the intersection of highways 22x and 24.
A rezoning application by BFI, a waste disposal company, would have enabled it to apply to use the land for Calgary refuse if successful. However, the application was refused in 2007.

Now BFI is back with a small office in Carseland, Alberta. They are attempting another effort to get their landfill approved by the county of Wheatland.

Local residents believe that rezoning will have a major negative impact on the community .
